Today is New Year’s Eve and for the first time Sam and I are not going out. Normally we go out or have people over but this year we decided a change was needed. We are staying in and spending some much-needed quality time together […]
Month: December 2015
It’s the first day of winter and I’ve been up since 5 am! Honestly in the beginning of December I was not ready. Not ready for a busier work schedule, last-minute to do’s with the wedding and all the general holiday festivities I wanted to accomplish as well! I wasn’t feeling balanced and it was starting to stress me out. So what do I do when I feel a stressed? I eat, lots and lots of delicious treats aka enough cookies to feed a family of four for an entire year but finally on this beautiful first day of winter I am ready to get back on track!!
So back to this morning, I woke up at 5am rolled out of bed put my hair up in a top knot and threw some sneakers on and went to the gym. And no, I did NOT take an outfit of the day photo of this one but maybe next time. This was purely a “get your ish together Meg!” moment. I grabbed some water and was out to door. I had a great run did a little stretching…attempted the arms, left the arms for another day and I was on my way home. Even though I didn’t get through the arm work outs I still felt great. I got back on track and it helped set up my day to be a good one (knock on wood). Now its time to tackle the rest of the day starting with breakfast. I decided to go with a delicious open-faced sandwich. Usually I stick with eggs and avocado but I wasn’t feeling it today!
Instead I rewarded my efforts with a sweeter version. I had perfectly ripened bananas that I was going to use for cookies tonight so I took one of those, some almond butter and two pieces of bread and I made deliciousness! Sprinkle a little organic brown sugar and cinnamon on top and I was in heaven!!!!
So here’s to the first day of winter and to always continuing to work on yourself. I hope you all have a fabulous day!
